Frustration is the name of the game

My new computer came yesterday.

By now, I was expecting to be set up in the spare bedroom, ready to go, but there was a problem.
My printer which I love, it’s fast, easy to use and above all, remarkably economic, won’t work. It needs a new driver for Windows 7 and HP don’t offer an upgrade. I’ve found a site that says they know how to fix the problem but until the computer man comes back on Tuesday, with a new printer, I won’t know if that’s a possibility as I daren’t mess things up. Of course, I can’t get hold of him to ask his opinion. He was meant to come back this morning to pick up his memory stick (long story) but hasn’t appeared so right now I have two computers. One downstairs, terminally  ill and so slow it’s painful but with a working printer, and another superfast one that I can’t print anything from.

And still no news about the move.

  1. I'm sure you'll get it all sorted out and will enjoy your new speedier computer. You mentioned that it has Windows 7 on it: I am surprised that a new model machine does not have the latest Windows 8 system installed. Just a thought.

  2. I heard windows 8 was a nightmare for desktops. It was designed for the touch-screen market.

Hope you get it all sorted out soon Linda.

  3. You can download the drivers from a site like this:

    http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/support-topics/win7-drivers.html

However, you'd probably best wait for your computer chap to come back if you're not sure what you're doing.
